18-19 Weeks

This baby is growing at lightning speed...

Our anatomy scan is in 8 days and I am sooooo excited. I want to, of course, hear that this baby is healthy, but also want to know if there is a little boy or a little girl growing in there. I can't wait to learn the sex and start getting the room ready and bringing out all the baby clothes and looking at them again. Chris and I plan to go out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory that day after the ultrasound (we've done it with the last two pregnancies, and it's sort of a tradition, and you know I love a tradition) and then do some baby shopping...even though we have lots for a boy or a girl, this baby deserves a couple new things, right?

This pregnancy has been so different than my last two in so many ways...for starters, I have not been as sick at all, which is great. But also I feel like sometimes things are moving so fast with our life and our other two kids that I have to stop to remember, hey, I'm pregnant. And then other times it's so easy to remember when I am huffing and puffing going up a flight of stairs carrying Liam or am so tired I feel like I could sleep anywhere. But overall (knocks on wood), I am going to say this has been the smoothest pregnancy to date - and I am grateful for that.

Pregnancy: 19w5d

Weight Gain: 9 pounds (19 weeks with Liam = 10 pounds, 19 weeks with Lily = 23 pounds)

Sleep: I love it, but it is getting tough, not because of my belly {yet} but because of my hands falling asleep constantly, it has happened with both my other pregnancies, just never this bad, apparently it's pregnancy induced carpal tunnel, it's super annoying and wakes me up constantly to try and get some blood flowing to them

Gender: We have our ultrasound on June 26th {8 days from today, but who's counting? - me!}

Feeling: Lots of indigestion (thank you Zantac for some relief) and terrible cramps

Cravings: Pizza with green olives and garlic cheese bread, also I have been eating about 3 Outshine popsicles per night...no, that's not a typo, 3 per night

Health: So far, so good!

Movement: Finally have been feeling some big movements, it started with jabs to my bladder and now I can feel the little sugar snap pea moving all over the place

Belly: Large, bruising is going away

Frecklestache: With the sunshine it is becoming more visible each day...I am combating it with Neutrogena SPF 110, and might have to wear wide brimmed hats all summer

Current Medications: Arixtra shots once/day in stomach for Factor II, taking prenatal and extra Folic Acid for MTHFR

Next Appointment: Ultrasound June 26th, Appt June 27th

If you have any "feelings" on the sex of Baby K, please vote in the upper right hand corner or leave a comment, I love to keep track. So far with both pregnancies the majority has been right.

Name post coming up this week and of course the evening of our ultrasound I will let everyone know if we are having a boy or a girl. Yeah!!!

Lily's 5th Birthday

Waking up to balloons in her room!

Dressed up in birthday attire for school.

Coming home from school to her requested cupcake "The Brookfield Princess" from Miss Julia's Bake Shop.

Singing Happy Birthday to her on her big day

Making a wish...

A scooter from mom and dad.

The following weekend we took her to Chuck E Cheese, which she had been talking about since she saw a commercial for it. It was her request for this year's birthday.

Liam's face pretty much sums up how he felt about this ride

he actually made a basket

After some fun games and lunch we headed back to our house for cake and custard and presents.

I think this is my favorite picture

She played with her new Petshopper house from Auntie Billie and Uncle Steve the rest of the night (she is slightly obsessed with Petshoppers). I think she would describe it as a wonderful fifth birthday.

15-17 Weeks

Sorry I have been MIA, I decided to have a Memorial Day party, which sort of lead to a lot of projects needing to get done (meaning, I thought they needed to get done before the party).

The week before the Memorial Day party, we had a small party (just my mom and sister's family) for Lily's birthday (that post will be next). After the party the kids were playing outside and we were sitting on the deck, I started to walk backwards off the deck to go check on the kids and totally fell...super hard onto the concrete. Didn't break my fall with anything but my left hip. It hurt sooooo bad, I couldn't move for a while and when I finally did, I realized, I am pregnant, this is not good.

I had a huge bruise on my left hip and left hand and walked with a limp for a couple of days. I called the Dr right away and went in the next day to hear heart tones. I also saw my Hematologist for some blood work (making sure the damage to my leg didn't turn into a clot).

Thankfully everything was fine with the baby and my blood work. But it did put a small damper in the things I needed to get done for the Memorial Day party (but, it got done).

I haven't really been feeling the baby since the fall, but I could've moved the whole placenta from how hard I hit the concrete (this is me diagnosing myself). Hopefully I will start feeling the baby soon.

My last appt on May 28th my blood pressure was still really good, no protein in my urine and baby's heartbeat was now running 145 bpm.

We have our anatomy scan on June 28th and I can not wait. Hopefully everything will look good with baby and if he/she cooperates we will find out the sex.

Chris and I plan to go to lunch that day at Cheesecake Factory (we have done this with both other pregnancies the day we found out) and then pick up some new items for baby. We want to surprise the kids with the sex of the baby and I found this on Pinterest and really want to do it with them, do you think that's dumb? I don't know, it's probably our last baby, so I really want everything to be extra special.

Feeling: Good, just dealing with indigestion

Cravings: Pizza, Hamburgers with ketchup, mayo and pickles

Health: So far, so good!

Movement: I haven't really been feeling much anymore

Belly: Large

Frecklestache: I thought it deserved it's own weekly update...it's starting

14 Weeks

If you haven't caught on yet, we are expecting Baby #3...here is the announcement and the post with all the details.

14 weeks
Baby was clearly standing straight out on this day (holy pointy bump) and I totally need to clean our bathroom mirror!

I have still been feeling pretty good, apart from being so tired. I am slightly nervous about the heat this summer because I have already been feeling so hot, and I can't stay in the air conditioning when there are things to do like State Fair, Renaissance Faire, Zoo a la Carte, etc.

In other news, Lily & Liam are getting excited. Lily thinks it will be a girl and Liam thinks it will be a boy. Liam lifts up my shirt to say "I love you baby" and big sister Lily has been doing everything she can to prepare Liam for what's coming, saying things like "things are really gonna change around here Liam when the new baby comes" apparently she remembers or is just trying to scare him? Also when I ever I talk about the baby, they both run to get baby dolls and compete on who is the better care giver, who gives better bottles and who swaddles better, it is adorable.

Although I am exhausted and feel huge, it still amazes me that a woman can grow a little person inside of herself, and with this probably being our last baby, I am really trying to soak that all in, because when you stop to think about it, well, it's pretty amazing.

I have a pedicure on Saturday with my mom and sister and am so looking forward to the foot massage. I plan on getting pedicures during this pregnancy every 4-6 weeks.

Apparently there is only a lemon in there...it looks more like a watermelon at this point.

Pregnancy: 14w6d (getting this one in right under the gun)

Weight Gain: 9 pounds

Sleep: Okay with a "splash" {and I mean that literally} night sweats

Gender: Will find out at the end of June if baby cooperates

Feeling: Good, just dealing with indigestion

Cravings: Pizza, Chinese Food, Salmon

Health: So far, so good!

Movement: I felt my first flutter on May 6th (13w4d) and have consistently been feeling them daily since then.

Belly: Large

Frecklestache: I thought it deserved it's own weekly update...it's starting

Current Medications: Arixtra shots once/day in stomach for Factor II, taking prenatal and extra Folic Acid for MTHFR, still using the progesterone suppositories

Next Appointment: May 28th, just routine visit with Dr. J

five.

Sometimes it feels like the girl that was born five years ago is a different girl than the one I see today.

She is bigger, stronger, more grown up and more full of life.

The fact that she was born so early, doesn't define her anymore, she seems like a different girl.

I often wonder about who I thought she would be someday. And If I could have bottled up everything that I wanted in a daughter, I wouldn't have even come close to how amazing she is.

She is a bit shy until she gets comfortable around you, often observing things before leaping in. She loves Scooby Doo and chocolate milk. Her favorite foods are cheeseburgers, french fries, strawberries, corn on the cob, pink fish (salmon) and broccoli. She is a quirky dancer (think Elaine from Seinfeld). She is a talented little artist. Her favorite color is pink. She loves school and her Froggy. She wants to be a palaeontologist when she grows up. She can be super silly or super serious (don't mess with her when she is concentrating on drawing). She gets over things fast and moves on. And doesn't seem to posses any of her mama's insecurities; never really embarrassed or self-conscious about anything, well unless you ask her who her "boyfriend" is at Playschool.

She is a great big sister.

She is an amazing daughter.

Her cousin Mason is her best friend.

I hope she will always know and feel how much we love her.

She is growing up.

It hurts...in a good way.

*****
We always watch her birth video on her birthday....she likes to say "aw, I was so little and cute", this year she heard Chris say "Happy Birthday" to her on the video. She proclaimed "Wait! Mama, was I born on my birthday?" I said yes. She replied "I can't believe that!"

I can't believe she is 5...Happy Birthday to our sweet girl...

(Birthday celebration post will be coming after this weekend)
